I love getting a great wedding photo. Yes this is Sondra. This is an HDR photo which is a fairly new process especially for wedding portraits, that I’m experimenting with. I allows me to get all the vivid details of the sky, but still keep the bride clear and bright.
These are made using 3 shots taken in rapid sequence, and bracketed at various exposures. In plain English it means I take lighter and darker shots of the same scene, and take the details from all to make on shot. I’ve also been using these on senice, but it’s wedding and portrait photography that I’m really excited about using this method with. I’ll post more later, or you can also see more on my Flicker Photo Page.
Gavin, the drama in this photo is awesome. Beautiful.
This is a sweet shot, Gavin! I really like your use of HDR here – nice work!
As a side note, my wife and I spent a few hours in Westport on our honeymoon too – almost nine years ago! I hope you and Sondra are enjoying married life!
Gavin, your work is beautiful! You’ve inspired me to get dressed up in my wedding dress again and hit the beach with Gerald and his camera in tow. What a beautiful bride you have. 🙂
