  • At the State Capital

Last night we stayed in an RV park outside Olympia WA. This morning we decided to to the the center of it all. LOOK we even found a parking spot the would accommodate our trailer, and it was even free.

It was pretty, but if felt very politician’ish around there. I wounder why…?

There’s lots of really good pictures too, but they have not been edited yet. Stay tuned after the honeymoon when I catch up and finish all the great shots we’re getting.

  • On the road again

So after getting back from the the resort we stuck around home and relaxed for a few days. Now we’re on the road again. Right not we’re in a Yakima RV park, and getting ready to head out.
We bought a 91 Jayco tent trailer, and are doing a bit of cruising around the state. We wanted to see the sights, and take photo’s and I just hated the though of flushing a ton of money down on hotel rooms. It’s a nice little trailer, and I’ll post some pics later.

  • At the resort

Sondra and I are at the Coeur d’Alene resory. It’s really nice, and the suite we’re in is stunning. I’ll post some pictures of it later on.

We’re about to go our to formal dinner at Beverly’s. It’s on the seventh floor and overlooking the lake. Honeymoons are so nice!

Here’s a view out the balcony of our room. It’s on the 15thy floor corner, and the view from the private balcony is really neat. Sondra woke me up at like 6:30 this morning saying… Gavin I’m trying to take a picture of the view and can’t make the camera work lol

  • My Wedding Day

Here it is almost 1: in the morning. I need to go to bed. But tomorrow (or today rather) is the wedding, and I guess I’m a bit in shock. Don’t get me wrong, I’m looking forward to it, but it’s a bit surreal. It seems like just yesterday I was thirteen and couldn’t wait to be grown up, and all that stuff. Now I’m getting to this stage where time starts flying by, and I’m thinking… “How could I be getting marred already”

It’s exciting none the less. Sondra and I are taking a two week honeymoon, and are just going to explore, maybe shoot some nature pictures, and just generally relax. I’m really looking forward to that. I’ll try to get some posts up to show where we’re at, and what’s up.

By the way here’s another picture of Sondra. This was a senior portrait I took a few years back. WOW time is flying… I’ll be old soon. Oh well at least I won’t do it alone.

  • Need Web hosting? Don't waste your time with Yahoo!

I know that this is not directly photography related, but since many of us do our own web work I decided to pass along my thoughts.

Yahoo Small Business has a lack of customer support that has pushed me over the edge. I have been with them for over two years, and have been patient and understanding, but I’ve finally had it after spending hours this weekend trying to get help with some issues, and getting nothing for it but a pain in the neck.

I will sometimes call and get half decent help if it’s something simple. Anything else and I usually know more than the tech even though I am not an expert. If anything tough comes up they don’t care whit, and will barley try. They just pawn you off to email support which is absolutely horrible, and does not follow up worth beans. Not to mention that anyone who is having a real problem does not want email support. They want someone on the phone who can help them so that they don’t waste a ton of time.

Yahoo does offer some nice features, especially for people getting started in web sites, but as you get more experienced you find that they lack in areas that a knowledgeable web master wants. Things like .htaccess configuration, php memory and others. If you everything goes right, and you don’t need a lot then you’ll be fine. But if you run into a real problem and call for help you can expect a blank duh from someone who is supposed to be experiences, but does not even know what your saying.

After two to three years of increasing dissatisfaction I have decided to dump yahoo and find a host who cares. There are many better hosts for less money. I have found good reviews on Host Gator web hosting and have decided to give them a try.

Perhaps yahoo will get their act together in the future, and get real about serving their customers.

  • My Wedding Is Getting Close

Wow time flies, and my wedding is in less than two weeks. Pretty scary, but I’m looking forward to it. Sondra and I are going on a two week vacation for our honey, with no specific destination. We’re just going to explore, travel, relax, and take pictures.

Our Wedding Photographer is Cory Polis and I’m really looking forward to seeing the images. I know that the men aren’t usually into the photo’s, buy what can I say. I’m a wedding photographer. I’ll post up some pics for everyone to see. We’re having the ceremony in Moses Lake, and then a reception in Ephrata.
I know I haven’t been posting mush up lately, but you know how it goes. Time just runs away from us.

  • Watch out for wedding kids.

I love weddings with lots of kids. My philosophy is that no matter how boring the adults may be to my camera, such as during such the reception dinner before things get really going, the kids will always be there for me.

I have six siblings, two older, and four younger, so I think that helps me relate even a little more. The bottom line is that from a my perspective as a wedding photographer more kids = more great pictures, and that’s enough for me. Besides that it’s just fun to make lots of little friends, and watch the antics of kids at the wedding.

From a brides perspective just think this way. There may be a concern with the kids messing something up. Such as the ringbearer veering off course en route to a really cool guest with a candy bar. Now this may not be planned, but the truth is that all the little things that happen, and especially the unplanned ones can make for some of the most memorable and fun wedding pictures you can get.

Here’s a few fun kids shots from my archives… Gavin
