  • Wentachee Wedding Show Fun

Well the Wentachee Bridal Premiere is over. It was a nice relaxed show put on by Katrina’s as usual and was actually pretty fun aside from the sore feet we Sondra and I got. It was great have so many of you top by and visit my booth, and I should thank you for all the raves about my wedding photography.

We had vendors from all around the area, and soon to be brides s well from Wenatchee, Leavenworth, Cashmere and all over. For those of you planing on booking your wedding date the sooner the better. There’s only so many dates available, especially in the popular months May-Sept

After the wedding show we packed up and went to the Applewood Grill for dinner. WOW! We had the most amazing steak dinner. I haven’t eaten so good in some time. It’s nice to just slow down sometimes.

If you din;t get a chance to browse thru the photo’s yo your satisfaction you can find most of then in the Wedding Photo Gallery. Here’s a shot I grabbed from the show… Gav

  • Wedding Photography in 2008

I’m excited about wedding photography for 2008. there’s a lot of neat things I’ve started offering brides and grooms in the past year from wedding day slideshow at the reception, to cool printed products that make their wedding photography a great experience. The HDR technology I started last year has come along as well. It makes such amazing and dramatic wedding landscapes that you have to see to believe!

I‘m amped about the printed items this year too. I’ve learned that though I give high quality edited digital files to all mt couples, there;s just something about printed products. Whether it be an album, a framed print, mini books ect. The images that we can touch and feel just come alive.

I also have some really cool wedding books and mini books for 2008, that I’ll be taking with me to the wedding show this year. There’s the 10 page 4×6 books that I usually give to the bride as an extra gift. These may not seem like much but their flush mounted images and super neat since they highlight moments from the wedding in something that can easily be carried in a purse. There’s also a similar book thats an even smaller wallet size. I have all kinds of nifty little things, and you’ll defiantly want to ask about the 8×8 mini albums.
I hope to see some cool locations this year with some weddings up in Spokane a and Seattle. It always nice to have a change of scenery. Who knows maybe we’ll even go to Mexico, the Bahamas, or Italy for a destination wedding.

See you in Wenatchee this weekend… Gav

  • Seim Photography. Our new website!

Well finally, here it is. Been working on this new design since the fall. The site and blog are fully integrated in an interface I hope you’ll like. There’s also lots of new images from 2007 to look thru.

I’m pretty excite about it, and looking forward to all the new images to come this year. I even plan on adding some of my fine art work. Feel free to drop me a note and let me know what you think.

  • Matt & Sheeney's Wedding In Tri Cities WA

Here’s a few shots from my latest wedding for Matt and Sheeney. They had their ceremony and reception and the Stone Ridge Event Center in Pasco WA. Stone Ridge is an old winery that’s been converted into an event center, and though it’s not super big it’s very nice.
Everything came together nicely, but Sondra and I were on the run for a while trying to get this shot ready so we could show the reception slideshow, and get the portable printer cranking on this picture to give to guests. What happened is that with the portraits we took earlier we had to battle the sun. I had things just about ready and someone said “Hey the sun looks great right now”

So we rushed up and got some shots of Matt & Sheeney, as well as the entire bridal party in the better light. Then I rushed back down a realizing that this shot was better than the one I took earlier I had to process is to print for instead of the other… Whew! I was on the run, but it was worth it and well before the evening was over we had a slideshow in the reception hall of our favorite shots, as well as this picture printing out for guests to take home…

  • Our new 2003 Pontiac Grand Am GT

Well Sondra and I finally got a new car. We have a baby on the way, so we needed a 4 door that would give us some room, but I also wanted something a bit sporty.

We were considering the 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer. A neat car, but buying a car brand new is so expensive, and depreciates so fast. so we looked around. We found this Grand Am at a small dealer in Yakima. It only has 55,000 miles, and is in near perfect condition.

It actually caught my eye as a drove past because of the flashy color. I almost didn’t stop, but I did and once we drove it we wanted it. It had the 30th anniversary package which really makes it sport because of the hood scoops and spoiler. It also had just about every other possible feature including the sunroof, leather, and big sound system.
It’s powerful, fun to drive, sporty, and half the cost of what we were thinking of buying new! Now that’s my kind of car.

I did a quick photo shoot with it tonight so I could show it off….

  • Senior portraits in Waterville for Kasey

A few days ago I did senior pictures for Kasey up in Waterville. In case you don’t know where that is it’s a small town up above Wenatchee. I met Kasey when she was about thirteen. And judging by the fact that it’s now her senior year I guess we’re all getting old!

Anyway we got a ton of great great shots. We took them all in the yard at a friend of Kasey’s families house, and it was am amazing spot. Like a serene park. at a the home and it was really neat to be able to take her portraits. Great job Kasey!

I have a ton of favorites, and I can’t post them all now but here’s a few that I really like.

This boat worked really well. Kasey was a bit afraid of being in it. I think it had been sitting there for a long time, and was pretty rough. She did really well though and it gave us some great shots. I also brought along that big frame just to try something fun.

  • Melissa & Mike's Wedding ~ at SageCliffe, Cave B Inn

This weekend I shot a great wedding at SageCliffe, also called the Cave B Inn, and winery. It’s near the Gorge Amphitheater in Washington, and was a really beautiful location. SageCliffe has very nice facilities, as well as these great lodges where people can stay. They overlook the cliff down into the Columbia River Gorge, and the view is simple stunning.

The sun was really bright, and there were no clouds, but we got some great shots, and really enjoyed ourselves. By the way Mike and Melissa, you were great to work with, and I wish you both the very best. Anyway there’s more to come, but these are a few of the fun shots from the wedding.
