  • Road To The Past

I really like the feel of this dwindling road. The old truck that’s for sale makes me feel like if I were to drive up the road I would go back in time.

    Road to the past

Continuing my digital fine at project, here is my latest work. intend to keep doing these, and build a collection that will eventually be available for sale on my site. If you want a copy now you can contact me.

I actually took this last year in 2007. It’s was a side road off of highway 12 in WA that leads to a Mount ST Helen’s lookout. It was not until this last week that I finally got it finished. Alas time is a fleeting thing.

I used an new effect I made in Photoshop, as well as plenty of painstaking editing to get the finished look that was a cross between a painting and a photo. It really shows up well in a large print. If you want to learn more about how it was done, I’ll post more about that soon on my Seim Effects blog. Have a wonderful day everyone… Gav

  • Our First Anniversary

Sondra and I just turned 1 this week. How time flies. Marriage is good. Everyone should do it. Besides you getting marries helps keep us in business.

Anyways we left Cyrus with the grandparents and went down to Wenatchee for a nice dinner at the Applewood Grill. It’s this neat restaurant where the steaks are cooked in and open fire rock stove. It smells so good in there. No photography, no work. Just a nice relaxing evening. God is good!

  • Bride on the beach

Here is another one of my favorites from Sondra on the beach last night. Many of the shoots on this trip have been exploring HDR, and this is no exception. The beach was really beautiful last night with all the dramatic clouds, and the bride standing barefoot in the sand finished the scene perfectly.

  • At the State Capital

Last night we stayed in an RV park outside Olympia WA. This morning we decided to to the the center of it all. LOOK we even found a parking spot the would accommodate our trailer, and it was even free.

It was pretty, but if felt very politician’ish around there. I wounder why…?

There’s lots of really good pictures too, but they have not been edited yet. Stay tuned after the honeymoon when I catch up and finish all the great shots we’re getting.

  • On the road again

So after getting back from the the resort we stuck around home and relaxed for a few days. Now we’re on the road again. Right not we’re in a Yakima RV park, and getting ready to head out.
We bought a 91 Jayco tent trailer, and are doing a bit of cruising around the state. We wanted to see the sights, and take photo’s and I just hated the though of flushing a ton of money down on hotel rooms. It’s a nice little trailer, and I’ll post some pics later.

  • At the resort

Sondra and I are at the Coeur d’Alene resory. It’s really nice, and the suite we’re in is stunning. I’ll post some pictures of it later on.

We’re about to go our to formal dinner at Beverly’s. It’s on the seventh floor and overlooking the lake. Honeymoons are so nice!

Here’s a view out the balcony of our room. It’s on the 15thy floor corner, and the view from the private balcony is really neat. Sondra woke me up at like 6:30 this morning saying… Gavin I’m trying to take a picture of the view and can’t make the camera work lol

  • My Wedding Day

Here it is almost 1: in the morning. I need to go to bed. But tomorrow (or today rather) is the wedding, and I guess I’m a bit in shock. Don’t get me wrong, I’m looking forward to it, but it’s a bit surreal. It seems like just yesterday I was thirteen and couldn’t wait to be grown up, and all that stuff. Now I’m getting to this stage where time starts flying by, and I’m thinking… “How could I be getting marred already”

It’s exciting none the less. Sondra and I are taking a two week honeymoon, and are just going to explore, maybe shoot some nature pictures, and just generally relax. I’m really looking forward to that. I’ll try to get some posts up to show where we’re at, and what’s up.

By the way here’s another picture of Sondra. This was a senior portrait I took a few years back. WOW time is flying… I’ll be old soon. Oh well at least I won’t do it alone.
