  • Moses Lake

This is a sunset I captured on the way home from a Moses Lake session a few weeks ago. Seeing how good the sunset was, I knew I needed to stop, and I also knew a good vantage point to go get the shot from.

This shot was taken using the HDR technique, in which I take multiple exposures are varied levels of brightness. Then in post I combine the lights and darks on all three.

  • Family Portraits in Moses Lake

Last Saturday I did a big family portrait session in Moses Lake for Cindy and her family. They were together for a graduation party for Brianna, and we had a nice big group.

Nothing to crazy or revolutionary here. We just got some nice portraits and had a little bit of fun. The group did a great job putting up with my crazy ideas. That always makes things easier. There were lots of separate group shots, as well and some big one’s of the whole family.

I did have a bit of a challenge because of the bright sun. In photography light is great, but direct sun is hard because of the shadows and squinting. I did some corrections in Lightroom starting with some of my own effects, and then a bit more in Photoshop to compensate for the harsh light, and give the shots a bit more mood.

Here’s a few of my favorites. You can click any image for a larger view… Gav
